Workshops 2017
A – “Growing Through Transitions” (Christian Living)
God never changes but the rest of us certainly do. This workshop will explore how to maintain and even grow in our faith and faithfulness to God through the major transitions of life. A – “Shaken Once More” (A Study in Last Things) The Lord has promised that “once more I will shake the heavens and earth”. Leading up to that final day, we experience the birth pangs, but what should we expect about the End of all things? Come and explore the promises and prophesies as we await the appearing of our Lord. A - "Yugo" (Reconciling Relationships) "The Yugo was a small car made in the former nation of Yugoslavia that survives in the American consciousness as the ultimate automotive failure.” (John Gaines) However “Yugo” (you go!) is a sometimes small, sometimes huge first step that Jesus gives us toward reconciling relationships in His body. This Workshop will explore, from Matthew’s gospel, who goes, why go, and when to go. |
B – "More Than All the Armies of England" (Prayer)
The Queen of Scotland once said that she feared the prayers of John Knox more than all the armies of England. Do we have this same level of confidence in the power and effectiveness of prayer? In this workshop, the question of how to grow in our desire and resolve to pray will be discussed. B – “Neither Jew Nor Greek” (Racial Reconciliation) As ethnic tensions and conflicts increase in America, the church needs Scriptural grounding and the conviction of gospel-love to be effective as God's light on the hill. Come to gain Biblical insight and hope in matters of racism and unity. |
